I like the part where the writer said that we are not like China and Japan where students have access to the latest science books in their native language as their large population makes it economical to translate these books. My friend, whom now currently studying at UniKL commented on this issue which he said that if Japan and China can do it their way why cant we do it too. At that time, I was lost for answer, but now I know Malaysian could afford the budget of translating everything into Malay. This friend of mine firmed on his stand that the only way to help Malaysians is to switch back the teaching medium of Maths and Science. If only I can explain to him whom already refused any reasonable excuse of English usage in teaching Malaysian students, I think many other people will be able to be reasoned too. The problem is they cannot face the temporary failure of their children in improving the whole nation. He said that I just defended English as medium because I am going to be an English teacher and this means a lot to me.
Another thing that catches my interest is the issue of neglecting the poor and rural area students but brushing up and polishing those in elite schools. Should there be any excuses?
